Pheasant belongs to hen-shaped fowl species. The pheasant male is called rooster, the female pheasant hen and the young pheasants are called chickens. The young female pheasant are called pullet. The rooster characteristic is the remarkably long, colored tail and the white spot above its eyes. The coloration of the hen pheasant is more modest compared to rooster pheasant, the feathering is matt with no garish colors.
